LIVERPOOL Mercury (Dolan) Cycling Club has been around for more than half a century, but during the last two years the club’s membership has witnessed a boom that no other club can come close to matching in the North West.
Based at the £5.5m Litherland Sports Park in Boundary Lane, the club boasts its own dedicated £300,000 cycling circuit designed by British Cycling, as well as state-of-the-art facilities such as meeting and changing rooms, loan bikes and ample parking.
How to join
If you want to join Liverpool Mercury cc, simply attend one of our monthly meetings at Litherland Sports Park (LSP) Boundary Road L21 7LA, which are held on the first Monday of each month (second Monday if a bank holiday) at 7pm. Application forms can be downloaded at bottom of this page. Before joining (if you are over 18 years of age) you are welcome to come out with us (as a guest) on any of our Sunday rides from the LSP – best getting there around 8.50am so we can have a little natter before the ride. Initially we would advise you to ride with the development group (aka the umpa lumpas) and we will take it from there. If you are coming along on Sunday, make sure you have a suitable roadworthy bike, a spare inner tube, a drink, some energy food, mobile phone and some money (for emergencies/coffee stop) and of course a crash helmet which is compulsory.
Please note Anyone under the age of 18 must apply for membership and attend a club meeting before they can be permitted to go on a club ride.
